7th - 11th Dec. 2009: Course for members of clinical rehabilitation team

The quality of rehabilitating a person with neuromuscular skeletal deficiencies depends entirely on the close consultation of the different members of the clinical team. In reference to the WHO/ISPO guidelines (2004) the key members of the team are Patients/Clients, Orthopaedic Surgeon, Prosthetist/Orthotist, Physiotherapist, Occupational therapist, Nurse, Social Worker and Community Based Rehabilitation Worker. It is usually not always possible to have the entire team in a single health service facility and therefore at least the first five are necessary in forming the core team.

Objective

The objective of the course is to update the team on the present state of the art of the entire process and therefore skills, knowledge required to attain the optimum quality of life for a person with a lower limb functional deficiency.
